Seeking to feel more settled and to deepen your relationship with nature? The practice of Forest Therapy (also known as Forest Bathing or Shinrin-Yoku) invites participants to slow down and reconnect with the natural world by awakening the senses and quieting the mind. The practice has been scientifically proven to boost immune strength, reduce stress, and improve cognitive functioning.
Think of this walk like a gallery walk in an art museum, with nature as our works of art. On this gentle 1.5 to 2-hour slow wander, we will move through a series of invitations to support you in finding your own authentic way of interacting with the natural environment while building community with your fellow participants. There's no right or wrong way to participate - just come and be yourself!
This walk involves some moderate hiking on uneven footpaths. I recommend wearing layered, comfortable clothing and athletic or hiking shoes.
Registering and Cost for the Walk
Please register for a walk using this registration form. Enter 4/19/2026 for the date of the walk and Huddart for the location.
Once I receive your registration form, you will receive details related to meeting points, parking, etc. one week prior to your scheduled walk date. (Please add <bayforestwalks@gmail.com> to your contacts or check your spam folder). If you do not receive an email from me at that point, please do reach out to me via email to let me know.
I rely on donations to continue providing walks for our community, and I kindly suggest a $40 cash donation per person to help support these efforts, but please feel free to give more or less as you are able. If you’d like to contribute, an envelope will be provided at the end of the walk. 10% of your donation will go towards One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization focused on global reforestation – one dollar plants one tree.
Please note that I reserve the right to change/cancel the walk due to obstructions, stormy weather, or insufficient reservations.
